Vegas With Baby

When I say we LOVE Vegas, I mean we LOVE Vegas. Josh and I got engaged in Las Vegas during the Olympia in 2014 (we met at the Arnold in 2014- more on that on our podcast). I think we have been almost a dozen times now and we cannot express the love we have for the city.

Last week, we went to Las Vegas with our 10 month old baby girl, Oakley. It was definitely a different experience but we had an absolute blast and it was probably my favorite trip we have ever taken to Las Vegas! Getting to experience the world with her has made every trip we have ever been on better.

This was the first time we have been to Vegas where we have enjoyed the pool. Each morning once Oakley woke up (and before it was too hot and too busy), we spent about 90 minutes in the pool with her (mainly in the shade so we didn’t have to worry about sunscreen before a nap). There was a 1 foot shallow pool at the Venetian that was absolutely perfect for her and it completely wiped her out each day! I definitely would recommend checking out the pools online but you can’t really go wrong with a pool in Vegas.

She absolutely loved just being pushed in her stroller down the strip and getting to look at all of the lights, people, buildings, shops, etc. She absolutely loved the aquarium inside The Forum Shops at Caesars, the Bellagio Conservatory, and the waterfall inside The Canal Shoppes at the Venetian. We also took her on the High Roller and she was so happy getting to stand by the window the entire time. She also loved watching the fountain show at the Bellagio.

We planned lunches and dinners around nap time, which sometimes meant late lunches and early dinners. One of the evenings she took a late nap and we were able to do a later dinner- it’s all about flexibility!

Other kid-friendly recommendations others had while there: Top Golf, Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat at The Mirage, The Coney Island Emporium inside New York New York, MM World, Hershey Chocolate World, Lied Discovery Children’s Museum, Mandalay Bay’s Shark Reef Aquarium, and the Gondola Ride at the Venetian. If your children are older, would recommend looking at the show offerings as well- kid friendly magicians, cirque du soleil shows, blue man group, etc!

I am personally just a fan of incorporating your baby / kids into whatever you already planned on doing (minus maybe a night club and gambling). We aren’t drinkers nor do we really like to gamble- we go to Vegas for the food and shows!
